We are all busy this month preparing for our Diwali celebrations at the V&A in London which will see the winner of our National Rangoli Competition have her entry recreated in the museum by the community as a whole. We also recently celebrated Ahimsa Day and awarded Scott Neeson the 2012 Ahimsa Award. You can read his amazing story on the IoJ website. If you live in Dubai or Oman, you will have seen the roadshow that we held there to talk about the Institute's events. | | | | Dazzling Diwali at the V&A Museum | | Join the JAINpedia Team at London’s Victoria & Albert Museum this year as part of our exciting 'Dazzling Diwali' event. It promises to be an exciting day for the whole family, with activities including an interactive and musical Giant Snakes and Ladders, the story of Rsabhadev Bhagwan in dance, traditional Rangoli demonstrations and workshops, and a chance to see the JAINpedia Travelling Exhibition. | | | | The IOJ takes JAINpedia to the Middle East | | The Institute’s Chairman accompanied by two of the Directors visited Dubai and Oman to appraise the Jain communities in the region about the activities of the Institute and in particular the JAINpedia project. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | JAINpedia's Travelling Exhibition's Continuing Success | | The JAINpedia travelling exhibition has toured several venues and events in the past month. Thousands viewed the exhibition at the Oshwal North West Paryushan programme at Byron Hall, where Nick Barnard from our project partner institution the V&A also spoke about the JAINpedia project and the continuing and fruitful relations between the Jain community and the V&A. The exhibition has since, visited the Jain Centre in Leicester, the Navnat community in Hayes, London, the Yorkshire Jain Foundation in Leeds and the Oshwal South London community.
