Birudhur Digamber Jain Temple

let me share with pleasure a video recording of installation of a 16 feet tall, monolithic, free standing statue of Bhagwan Varthamana Mahavira on a 8 feet pedestal at Birudur village, 2Km from Vandavasi, Thiruvannamalai dt., Tamilnadu.. Probably this is the tallest statue of Bhagwan Mahavira in India.
This statue was installed on 23-11-2012 in the temple premises dedicated to Bhagwan Adhinatha. This solemn function with reverberation of chanting of panchamanthra was blessed by 108 Sri Vishwesh Sagara Munivar. Sri Bhattaraka Laxmisena of Jinakanchi Digamber Jain Sri Mutt attended. Sri D. Chinnathambi Nainar of the same village Birudur had caused this statue to be made and installed. Let all of us thank Sri Chinnadurai Nainar and his family for their Marga prabhavana, charity for the cause of Jina Dharma.
There are several villages surrounding Birudur with beautiful Jinalayams. The sacred Hill, Ponnur hill, where Acharya Kundakunda performed Tapas, where His Foot Prints are present is just 10 Km from Birudur. Why don't you make a pilgrimage to Tamilnadu?
