Hindmotor, Uttarpara, Uttarpara Kotrung, West Bengal, India
a small town of Hooghly District, West Bengal, India, situated on the western bank of the river Ganges. It is a part of the area covered by Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority.
The town is popular because Hindustan Motors Ltd. (HML) has been in the area since 1948. Part of the manufacturing sites of HML also belongs to neighboring Uttarpara and Konnagar. The famous Indian car Hindustan Ambassador, fondly called "The king of Indian roads" has its manufacturing plant here. This car had its origins in on the Morris Oxford series III model, which was primarily a British car from 1956 to 1959.
