Kartik Shukla Purnima Celebration
at JCGB on November 25th at 10:00 am.
This day is considered as one of the most auspicious day in Jainism. After four months of rainy season (Chaturmas), the pilgrimage of Shatrunjaya reopens on this day. Over twenty thousands jains from all over India will come to town Palitana to celebrate this very auspicious day. To visit Shantrujaya temples on this day becomes one of the most memorable days.
It is said that Lord Adinath had visited the hills of Shatrunjaya Hills in-numerous times for penances and meditations. It is also said that on this specific day, a large number of monks who were the followers of Lord Adinath, gained infinite knowledge and infinite perception, and also simultaneously achieved nirvana on the hills of Shatrunjaya. A special chityavandan will be performed in front of the pratimaji of Lord Adinath to celebrate this day at the JCGB temple. It will last for an hour.

Shatrunjaya Temples have become a national tourist place. There are dozens of beautiful temples [nine are the major ones] which are spread over an area of 200 acres on top of the mountain. Also, there are numerous beautiful temples in the city of Palitana. On any given day in Palitana, one will come across many highly learned and renowned Jain Acharyas presenting Vyakhyans in upashryas.
