Soul-
  1. A synonymous of Jīva (soul);

the substance which is a conglomerate (continuum) of innumerable Pradeśas (the indivisible units of the substance), all of them being characterized by consciousness.

a soul which continuously undergoes transformation- sometimes becomes anguished, sometimes otherwise.

atati- santataṃ gacchati śuddhisaṃkleśātmakapariṇāmāntarāṇītyātmā.

  1. The soul is the knower and the knower is the soul. That, through which one knows, is the soul.
je āyā se viṇṇāyā, je viṇṇāyā se āyā. jeṇa vijāṇati se āyā.
