An Aticāra (partial transgression) of Anarthadaṇḍaviramaṇa Vrata (vow of abstinence from violent Anarthadaṇḍa (violent activity indulged in wantonly on account of remissness), the eighth vow of the lay follower);

to indulge in amorous and jocular activities through the funny gestures of face, nose etc. like a clown.

'kautkucyam' anekaprakārā mukhanayanadivikārapūrvikā parihāsādijanikā bhāndānāmiva vidambanakriyā, ayamapi tathaiva.
