Cetanā

Sentience - It is the distinguishing characteristic of the Jīva (soul);

it is in the form of jṅāna (knowledge) and Darśana (1) (intuition - apprehension of generic attribute).

cetanālakṣaṇo hi jīvāḥ.

cetanā jñanadarśanātmikā.
