Jeevan Vigyan - 8: Lesson-2 : Poetry & Music (A) Poetry & Music (B) : Song of Non-violence

Published: 20.09.2018
POEM

Come! Let's be friends to all, Kind, gentle and true to all. A good deed done is never in vain, For it brings peace to all.

Man! Oh Man! Why you fight? With other man, over goods and rights? Nations, Regions, Races, Religions, All try to subdue others with might.

"I beg your pardon"! "Forgive me, please"! Are simple but profound if said with ease. They soothe the disturbed, calm the ired because they spread peace.

"To err is human" must be kept in mind All remember to be kind. Here lies the key to happiness In this world for all mankind.

Peace cannot be bought with wealth,

Goodness does not lie in stealth. Unrest, disturbance, sleepless nights Go with richer but not with health.

Too much with one or too less with other, Is the cause of strife between one and the other

If to each goes what each needs Mankind would live like brother with brother.

To give willingly to others can be done If we exert control over abandon. Non-violence is the path for eternal world peace violence all must shun.

Discard none. Accept all without prejudice. We all are links in the chain of universe. Harmony brings us together in amity, As a boat to the river, says Tulsi.

POETRY AND MUSIC (B)

SONG OF NON-VIOLENCE

Oh God! Please grant us a balanced mind, Oh mother Ahimsa! Fill our lives with peace.

Amity, Mercy, Equality, Self-control and Self-appraisal, These are but other names for Peace! Who watches over us all the time, Do bless us with contentment and harmony.

Man is becoming more treacherous, stone-hearted, To become rich quickly overshadows all other thoughts. He has needlessly created great differences, And crushed mercy under the weight of exploitation.

In this hour of darkness Oh Goddess Ahimsa! You are the only beacon to guide us ashore. Nuclear weapons are becoming more and more destructive As if doomsday was to come tomorrow.

Wealth and labour and other asserts Are being exploited by a few. The key to world peace is in patience and understanding As the great Acharya Tulsi says, "Let this be the guideline for whole world".
