Jain Society of Greater Detroit
On behalf of the Jivdaya Committee, we sincerely thank you for your generous contributions in 2024. With your support, we have been able to assist 19 Panjrapoles in India and animal shelters in the USA, including the Lighthouse Shelter in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
The Jivdaya Committee operates closely, cohesively, transparently, and effectively—both internally and with external Panjrapoles in India—to uphold the mission of Jivdaya: to prevent cruelty and reduce the suffering of animals by providing shelter, nutrition, water, and healthcare.
In 2024, we distributed over $28,000 to Panjrapoles in India and the USA. Due to government regulations, most Panjrapoles in India received fodder as part of their support. We also funded two specific projects in India, the details of which are below. Video clips of these projects are attached for your reference:
Project 1: Ramkrishna Gawshala Shed ( Rajashthan)
Purpose: Building a shed for storing grass for animals.
Details: With our funding, a shed measuring 57’ x 27’ x 20’ (height) was constructed. This shed allows for efficient grass storage and easy truck access for unloading.
Project 2: Shree Vinchhiya Mahajan Panjrapole Trust (Rajkot, Gujarat)
Purpose: Constructing a smaller shed for animal care jointly with local.
Details: A shed measuring 9’ x 30’ was built jointly with the Panjrapole Trust.
Both projects utilized pre-existing land owned by the respective Panjrapoles.
Currently, we have funds available and would like to allocate them to additional needy Panjrapoles in India and animal shelters in North America. We also aim to sponsor a few small permanent projects at Panjrapoles alongside our regular funding for providing grass to animals.
If you have information about any needy Panjrapoles or animal shelters, please provide the contact details, name of the Panjrapole, and a description of the project. Also if you want to support project and support cause, we can also help to identify needy Panjrapole.
Thank you again for your generous support of Jivdaya and for making this cause a part of your daily life.

Our local center, Lighthouse, which was founded by Gurudev Chitrabhanuji, also advocates against animal cruelty. JSGD made a donation of $1,000 to support the Lighthouse's efforts in combating deer hunting. Below is the thank-you letter we received from the Lighthouse:
