Happy New Year, hopefully everyone has a great 2024. As You know JSGD started four years back new projects including proving Interest free loans to assist college education for our Society members who are living in Michigan and Windsor Canada. We also started a similar Interest free loan program for Jain students who are coming to Michigan for Graduate study. These both programs for loan are on need basis. Thanks for generosity and unmatched support for our members for this humble cause. Last year in 2024 we received total of 3 applications and were able to support with interest free loan of $ 2500/year. We also want to bring to your attention that loan society gave back a few years back; student has paid back fully and after completion of degree and got a great professional job at large corporation. Our recipients are very thankful to society and the committee is open to support any student in any emergency need on a case-by-case basis. Our guide loan for loan scholarship program for family income has increased from $ 75,000 to $ 150,000 annually. If You know any student from India or here can benefit out of our program, please bring to our attention. All information is totally confidential, not only we will guide but will ensure that funding is done in less than two weeks and if support needed at campus will try to connect with other students. Thanks to Late Shree Anant bhai & Jayaben Koradia for their vision and helping to start this program.
- Interest Free Loan Programs for Undergraduate Students of JSGD Members:
The College Education Loan program is to assist students during their college studies through an interest free loan during their education within U.S. Upon repayment of the loan, the same opportunities will be available to future students from the Jain community. Each selected student will receive a total loan amount of $7500 over three years; Staring $2,500 for the first, second t and third year of undergraduate studies, provided that the student is enrolled in an academic institute in US during these years. Repayment of the loan can begin six months after graduation. Up to 3 loans will be awarded throughout USA to the Michigan & Windsor Canada Students studying anywhere in the USA for fall 2019.
Eligibility Criteria: Born in Jain Family or actively practicing Jainism
- Graduating U.S. High School Senior from Michigan and Windsor Canada
- Enrolled as full-time undergraduate student in an academic institute in USA
- U.S permanent resident or US or Canadian Citizen Whose house hold income is less than $ 75,000
- Interest Free Loan for Jain Graduate Students coming to Michigan from Abroad:
The Jain Society of Greater Detroit (JSGD) is a non-profit organization and wants to support Jain students coming to Michigan from abroad for graduate study and who are in need of financial support. A total of 2 Graduate Interest free loan scholarships of $ 2500 will be awarded to full time enrolled graduate students.
