In Mahatma, Sadhvi Pramukha Kanak Prabhaji gave 20 minutes of her time to us, as fortunately several Sadhvishrees were present who kindly translated the discussion. Sadhvi Pramukhaji asked how it came that we are followers of Jain Dharma and on our spiritual future.

Interview Sadhvi Pramukha at Mahatma, Rajasthan

Sadhvi Pramukhaji opened the interview by asking us how many kilometres we walked by foot and how we felt during the march. She was pleased to know that we walked the whole distance from Taranagar to Mahatma and were inspired to gain new vision. We compared it to life as such where only few people are on the path of Ahimsa, but what matters is that people are on the path. She continued by asking if we appreciate the lifestyle of Jain Sadhvis, and responded to our approval if we want to become Jain Samans. We did not exclude this possibility, but told her that time for this yet has not arrived. She then asked about our 4 children, if they are married and settled. All wondered when we explained to them that in Europe people do not live in joint families, but understand themselves as individuals. Everybody was pleased to know that our children and we are in a situation where we are not dependent of others and that we are happy with the work we do. Sadhvi Pramukhaji said, “It is a big thing to spread the message of Ahimsa and a very important task.” We felt blessed by these words.

When we arrived, the ladies of the village sat in front of the open door and where enjoying the presence of Sadhvi Pramukhaji. We were not much aware of their presence, but at present, while editing this report, we understood that the questions, Sadhvi Pramukhaji put to us could have been a lesson on ‘other culture’ for her audience.

Gentle sounds of the monks’ Evening Pratikraman reached our ears. Karuna touched Sadhvi Pramukhaji’s feet and we hurried to the schoolhouse.

The door to Acharyashree’s room was open; he was in Kayotsarg. We tried to take video clip, in spite of the darkness in the room. This Pratikraman was specially beautiful -

These sounds accompanied us back to Taranagar where we took farewell from Sushil Surana and his caring family.

Early next morning we would start to Ladnun and take interview of JVBI Vice-Chancellor Samani Dr. Mangal Pragyaji.
