Ahimsa Yatra : Siriyari : Tolerance Can Be Practiced Through Spiritual Outlook

Published: 19.10.2004

Tolerance is one of the most powerful virtues for the transformation of situations and personality. To understand this properly we have to keep in mind that tolerance in social life is different from tolerance in spiritual life. In social life the system of defence and revenge is widely accepted. There is no place for both of them on the spiritual level.
We have the golden history of various saints. They were subjected to innumerable difficult situations, but tolerated them with great patience. These great personalities had testified their stamina and are remembered for that.
Our behaviour and actions depend on our angle of thinking, just listening lectures would not help to develop the quality of tolerance. When our thinking is based on spirituality, we can act according to it. We will succeed to transform our negative drives into positive attitude and face all situations of our life with peace.
These thoughts were explained by Acharya Mahaprajna in Bhikshu Samavasaran addressing the huge crowd.
Yuvacharya Shri Mahashraman suggested to communicate in sweet and restrictedspeech to rescue us from every social dispute.
