Expressing his gratitude towards Acharya Shri Mahashramanji, the Disciplinarian at Jain Vishva Bharati University at Ladnun (Rajasthan), Prof. Katz said that the whole world needed today to get the knowledge of the high principles of Jainism such as non-violence, freedom from greed and peaceful co-existence called Anekant. He said that for that purpose they had established the Bhagwan Mahavir Professorship for Jain Studies at F. I. U., U. S. A., where thousands of students would get the opportunity to study Jainism. He said that Dalai Lama had visited F. I. U. twice and studies in Buddhism were already going on there. He said that the Jain studies would go a long way for comprehending even Buddhism and Hinduism. “In fact, Jainism is a valuable heritage for mankind and a gateway to Universal peace”, he added. Prof. Katz also threw light on the future exchange programme between F. I. U at Miami, U. S. A. and Jain Vishva Bharati University at Ladnun, Rajasthan and envisaged new possibilities of Jainological Studies. He also said that an online programme would be started very soon for Jain studies.

He said that an auspicious beginning in this direction had taken place by establishment of Bhagwan Mahavir Professorship at F. I. U.. Muniji expressed his hope that new possibilities would be explored at other Universities too, by such studies.
