Terapanth Professional Forum Raipur
TPF Raipur organized a two hours group discussion on theme of “Happy and Harmonious Family” on 26th June 2011, on Sunday at 8:00 PM in the holy presence of Samani Gyan Pragya ji.
The programme started with “Arhant Vandana”. Mr. Surendra Kumar Choraria, the President, TPF, Raipur Branch has given the welcome speech. There-after the dais is handed over to Mrs. Ritu S Jain (Choraria), the Coordinator, TPF, Raipur Branch. She introduce the concept of Happy and Harmonious Family.
Samani Shri Gyanpragyaji said that normally, an individual is thought of in the physical bodily form. Physical comfort and luxury are considered happiness. But we know that mental worry destroys bodily happiness. Everyone desires physical comfort. But if a person is imprisoned and there he is given the finest of foods, will he be happy? A person does not experience joy on getting nice food if this is also accompanied by a few abuses. Hence a modest meal served with dignity and affection, tastes better than the best delicacies served with disrespect.
Man is a social being. If an individual can live peacefully with a few people he can possibly adjust with a larger group as well. For a calm and quiet life, it is necessary for an individual to co-exist within a family in a peaceful manner. Harmonious is one of the most important elements of family life. The main objective of peaceful co-existence in the world is that a nation deals nonviolently with other nations and accepts peaceful co-existence for itself. However, it will be difficult to accept this wide view, if a man is unable to maintain peaceful co-existence within the smallest unit of society that is family. With changing times it is necessary to revise old traditions. Rigidity of beliefs is the main reason for our conservatism and an obstacle to achieving harmony and peace. In family everybody should try to be equally generous to each other with devotion and ready to help others without hesitation or an aversive attitude. In family each should owe kindness, have similar personality and behavior, understand other, and are helpful, compatible and patient. Everybody has good manner and character both in society and in private life. Faithful person usually owe goodness and ethic principles which will help them to stay together for the rest of their lives. Be patient when pain, sorrow or temptations arise. Being thoughtful, able to give up personal comfort for the sake of one’s partner proper behavior can bring all happiness. On the other side, ill behavior can spoil the happiness and it is the cause of going down. So if one is careless and does not cultivate ethic principles it will cause problems in family and society. Development and progress in modern society may cause problems for society and family live, so one always has to check if these things are in conformity with ethic principles.
All human beings are gifted with three miraculous powers - mind, body and speech. Through these a man interacts with the external world. However, the inner world of consciousness is beyond these. The cause of all our problems lies within our inner world. Training self-control and controlling emotions through calming the mind. Try to improve yourself and correct bad habits. Try to understand each other and adjust to each other. The cause of inner agitation is an unbalanced consciousness. All our senses are directed by consciousness. Unless and until our consciousness is balanced, our senses - mind, body and speech remain disturbed. Tolerant person accepts diversity and doesn't prejudge others on the basis of religion, race, or gender. If we are to live in harmony with others and seek cooperative solutions to conflicts, we need to focus more on our common humanity than on our differences. Tolerance also involves being flexible and accepting that others have the right to be who they are. When we lose our patience, we become frustrated. Our frustration turns into anger and resentment. If a lack of patience continues, everyone ends up feeling stressed out most of the time. Patience creates an environment of compassion and respect.Patience with self is confidence. Cooperation - working in harmony with others to achieve a goal - is vital not only to a happy, successful life but also to a more peaceful and harmonious world. Cooperation requires members to solve conflicts and exercise a certain amount of self-control and empathy. Family cooperation activities provide an avenue for a family to get closer. Although tools and technology do help to improve productivity within a team, the largest gains for improving coordination are all related to the human aspects of relationships between members of family. “The more we get together, the happier we’ll be.”
Mr. Rupesh Jain, Treasurer TPF, Raipur Branch concluded the meeting with vote of thanks.
