Sadhvi Kanakshriji Arrives at South Kolkata Terapanth Bhawan for Chaturmas 2011 - Glorious ‘Ahimsa Chetna Yatra’

Sadhvi Kanak Shri ji, and fellow Sadhvi Veena Kumari ji, Sadhvi Madhulata ji, Sadhvi Madhulekha ji and Sadhvi Shanti Prabha ji arrived at South Kolkata Terapanth Bhawan in Poddopukhur (Anuvrat Sarani) for Chaturmas 2011 with enormous crowd of followers and school children with huge procession in the form of 'Ahimsa Chetna Yatra'.
About 500 students of Jain Terapanth Vidyalaya also participated in 'Ahimsa Consciousness March' procession and were in the form of disciplined procession holding the message of Ahimsa & Anuvrat. Female members representing Mahila Mandal were in their orange saree uniform followed by the President and Chief Trustee of Terapanth Sabha with the Jain Flag in hand were also in the form of disciplined procession. The members of Terapanth Yuvak Parishad in white uniform behind the group of Sadhvi's were attracting concentration of all, whereas large number of lay followers (Shrawak and Shrawika's) were speaking slogans on the Anuvrat Code and other approved slogans of Terapanth in the disciplined procession. Disciplined Ahimsa Consciousness Wisdom March attracted the concentration of visitors and all.
The procession began from the residence of Sri Santosh Kumar Surendra Kumar Dugar (P.S. Group) Vedant Complex in Ballygunge Circular Road and merged into Terapanth Bhavan in huge crowd. Glorious program was organized for the auspicious welcome of Sadhvi Kanakshri ji and fellow Sadhvishriji.
The Mayor of Kolkata Municipal Corporation Sri Shobhan Chatterjee, Sri Subrata Mukherjee (Public Health Engineering Dep’t. Minister - Government of West Bengal), Sri Subrata Bakshi (Transportation and Community Development Minister - Government of West Bengal) Smt. Anita Basu - Local Councillor and many other dignitaries also graced the occasion with their presence.
The programme began with Mangalacharan by Smt. Vinita, Pratibha and Madhu Dugar. Welcome address was given by Sri Surendra Dugar, President of South Kolkata Sabha. Sanghsevi Kamal Kumar Dugar introduced the life style if Jain Saints and Nuns based on the principles of non -violence and also presented his clear views expressing the dire need of ahimsa in the present context.
Addressing the large gathering of ‘Ahimsa consciousness March’ Sadhvi Kanakshri ji said -‘In order to awaken the consciousness of non-violence among Persons, Society and the National as a whole it is necessary to develop the sense of friendship and amity among people. To develop the sense of equality and equanimity towards all and every creature cannot be possible by preaching only, one has to practice it and live his life according to the teachings of Lord Mahavira to develop peaceful co -existence. Presenting Ahimsa as a power and healthy philosophy for the Society, Sadhvishri said that in a Democracy if the philosophy of Ahimsa is followed and practiced, then democracy can become the best form of Government in the world. In reply to the grand welcome of Sadhvishri ji, she replied that it is a welcome and affirmation of the power of the Guru, H.H. Acharya Mahashraman ji. Sadhvi Madhulata ji presented achievements of the journey all over Kolkata and suburbs before the chaturmas and put before the lay followers the Action Plan for the Chaturmas and requested to all to make full use of the potential and ability of the Learned Sadhvi Kanakshriji and her group by attending the programmes and training sessions in the Chaturmas to attain good health and spiritual development.
The Mayor of KMC, Sri Shobhan Chatterjee, said that whenever he attends any programme of Sadhvishri, he always learns some new teachings.
Sri Subrata Mukherjee said that they are very blessed that Sadhvi Kanakshri ji is giving such nice moral teaching to people of Bengal. Councilor Anita Basu also accorded welcome in her area to Sadhvishriji.
Terapanth Mahila Mandal welcomed Sadhvishriji in group presentation. Sri Chainroop Chindalia, president of Mahasabha, Sri Karan Singh Nahata (President - Kolkata Sabha), Smt. Tara Surana (Mahila Mandal), Basant Patawari (President - Teyup - Kolkata), Bhikamchand Pugalia, Janwarimal Nahata (South Howrah), Vimal Baid (North Howrah), Sushil Chopra (Purwanchal), etc. also expressed their views. Sri Bhanwarlal Baid, convener of South Kolkata Sabha also welcomed Sadhvishriji. The programme was ably compered by Sri Vinod Baid, Secretary of South Kolkata Sabha.
