With the blessings and guidance of Pujya Acharya Shree Chandanaji of Veerayatan, we are very pleased to share the news of our dear Mangalam taking her long desired vows of Diksha (initiation).
Mangalam has been affiliated with Veerayatan for many years. She has been studying Jain scriptures under the guidance of Pujya Acharya Shree Chandanaji. She has become a great messenger of "Seva, Shiksha and Sadhana".
Mangalam has resided in North Carolina, USA for the past 15 years with her family. Many Jain communities have enjoyed her melodious Bhakti Sangeet. She has mesmerized audience with her devotional music and has released several albums.
Jain Diksha (initiation) occurs in two phases. The initial (chhoti) Diksha and about 6 months later final (Badi) Diksha. Mangalam's initial (Chhoti) Diksha is scheduled for December 20th 2011 at Veerayatan, Rajgir, Bihar, India. Veerayatan India has invited all of us to attend and experience such an auspicious ceremony. For details please see the following invitation from Veerayatan.
The final (Badi) Diksha will take place in USA in the year 2012. The plans for this Diksha are being worked. This will be a historic event for the entire Jain Community in USA and in North America since it will be the very first Diksha ceremony in our country and continent.
