Acharya Tulsi Samman for Jagdish Chandra

Ahmedabad, Oct 6:

Mr Jagdish Chandra, head of ETV News Hindi and Urdu, will be conferred with the 10th Acharya Tulsi Samman this year.

The award, carrying Rs one lakh in cash, a citation and shawl, will be presented by Gujarat Governor Kamala Beniwal in the presence of Acharya Shri Mahashramanji at Kelwa in Rajasthan on November 6.

Several Union Ministers and MLAs will attend the feliciation function, according to Acharya Tulsi Vichar Manch president Rajkumar Pugalia. He said journalists committed to constructive work and upholding human values were conferred with the award.

Earlier, recipients of the award include Nav Bharat Times former editor Vishwanath Sachdev, writer-journalist late Dr Ram Manohar Tripathi, poet Balkavi Bairagi, Rajasthan Patrika chief editor Gulab Kothari, Blitz Hindi former editor Nand Kishore Nautiyal, Dainik Bhaskar Group editor Ramesh Chandra Agrawal and writer Dr Kanhaiyalal Nandan, besides senior journalist Shachindra Tripathi.
