Arrival & Welcome at Thinius' Residence
In summer 2012 Karnataka's famous scholar in Kanarese studies and Jainology, Prof. Hampa Nagarajaiah, came to Berlin to visit Center for Jaina Studies of Freie Universität Berlin (CfJS.FU) and to meet scholars of Jainology and Indology.
On June 26th, 2012 he arrived in Berlin Tegel airport where he was received by Patrick Krueger, who heads CfJS.FU, Johannes Schröder and Theresa Suski who study History of South Asian Art (including Jainology), and Rolf Thinius, who invited Prof. Hampana in his residence for lunch. Rolf Thinius and his wife Carola are close friends and benefactors of both South Asian Art History Center and Center for Jaina Studies.

Meeting @ Prof. Bruhn's Residence
On the occasion of Prof. Hampana's visit to Berlin a social gathering of Indologists and students of Berlin university happened in the afternoon in Prof. Klaus Bruhn's residence in Berlin Nikolassee. Prof. Bruhn is retired since many years but he is still one of the leading experts in Jainology, especially Jaina iconography and Prakrit Philology. Carla Geerdes and Christian Geerdes, editors of HereNow4U, joined this event.
Dinner @ Arman
In the evening Prof. Hampana met with teaching staff of CfJS.FU and South Asian Art History Center of Freie Universität Berlin to have dinner in restaurant "Arman", situated in Berlin Kreuzberg.
