On Sunday 18 November 2012, Jain Vishwa Bharti (London) held their Diwali Programme and Graduation Ceremony for students who completed the two year MA in Jainology and Comparative Studies Masters Course. Samani Pratibha Pragya gave an insightful talk on Knowledge is Power and Samani Him Pragya spoke on How to Maintain Peaceful Family Life. Being Gnan Pancam (an auspicious day for revering knowledge), Samanijis led the audience to recite Mantras for Knowledge and emphasised that this is important for young and old alike as learning is a lifelong journey.

Samani Pratibha Pragya awarded certificates to Hina Vora, Pragna Damani, Neeta Sheth and Gold Medal to Rajeev Shah for ranking first amongst 152 students worldwide. Rajeev said, “Even though I have a MPhil from Cambridge University and a MBA from Oxford University, this Masters is the one I cherish the most as spiritual knowledge assists one’s soul during its cycle of transmigrations, whereas professional qualifications can only be useful for this life only.” He quipped that getting the Gold adds one more for Team GB!

Rajesh Jain, JVB Trustee, spoke on how we can make this earth a heaven and emphasized on the benefits of donation followed by vote of thanks.

Bhupendra Shah and Amitabh Jain both lauded Acharya Tulsi, Acharya Mahapragya and Acharya Mahashraman for establishing one of the premier institutions in the world for disseminating knowledge of Jainism. Amitabh Jain remarked that he was impressed to observe the enthusiasm and interest of people following our culture and heritage in Western Countries, which he does not see as widespread back home in India.
