On 5th day of December, 2001, Acharya Shree Mahapragya started his Ahimsa Yatra (Journey of Non-violence) from Sujangarh (Rajasthan), which completed on 14th day of December 2008 in Sujangarh only.
During this Ahimsa Yatra, when Acharya Mahapragya was journeying into Sivanchi-Malani area of Rajasthan in 2001-02, at the same time in Gujarat (India) was under immense violence due to Godhra issue. Violence is growing in nature. Ahimsa Yatra of Acharya Shree was moving towards Gujarat in those days, but many people advised not to visit Gujarat. Acharya Shree said that relevance of our Ahimsa Yatra is to move there and we must go. Many people then accepted the views of Acharya Shree. Ahimsa Yatra reached there and Acharya Shree started his efforts to end this violence.
One of the points of high tension at that time was related to Rath Yatra of Bhagwan Jagganath, performed by Hindu Community. A meeting was conducted where representatives of Hindu and Muslim communities and Administrative officers were present under the auspicious presence of Acharya Mahapragya. A solution was found after discussion and enmity turned out into amity.
