About
Māṇikyanandi was a Karnataka Jaina logician and author of the Sanskrit logic text Parīkṣā-mukha. Jaina logic was first treated by Akaḷaṅka; Māṇikyanandi made a thorough study of his works as well as of Nyāya-pravēśa by Diṅ-nāga and Nyāya-bindu by Dharma-kīrti and treated the subject in sūtra form. Not much is known about his personal life, but on perusal of his work, we find that he was a great logician. It is considered that he lived in the 10th century A.D. as a junior contemporary of Vidyānanda.
