“…The most important learning for me was a sneak peek into the perspectives of people who have had drastically different experiences and upbringing than me as they have been brought up in a different culture altogether.”

- 2015 JITO-US Cohort Participant

Through the Jain Youth Exchange Program, students learn about all the aspects of life in another country.  As one's concept of the world expands, one matures and develops a deeper understanding of one's self.

Immersion in another country’s value system enhances academic, professional, social, and personal growth. Host Jain Center's, families and the entire community are enriched by extended, friendly contact with someone from a different family/culture.

Applicants must be Jain, enrolled as students in a collegiate program, and meet our selection criteria (including personal interviews).

Students from USA / CANADA will pay for all their international & travel within India, health insurance, pocket money to pay for incidental expenses, including if they were to pay for food outside, or to purchase souvenirs, etc.

Host Families (in India) would be responsible for local transportation, lodging, boarding, and food at home. The local Jain Center or Host families can sponsor any events, or cultural activity, or programs at their discretion.
