Alābha Parīṣaha

A type of Pariṣaha (hardship);

to forbear the hardship in monastic life due to unviability of a desired object; on such occasion, the ascetic should not feel melancholy but endure the situation boldly with equanimity.

paresu ghāsamesejjā bhoyaṇe pariṇiṭṭhie. laddhe piṃḍe aladdhe vā nāṇutappejja saṃjae... ajjevāhaṃ na labbhāmi avi lābho sue siyā. jo evaṃ paḍisiṃvikkhe alābho taṃ na tajjae...
