The Jain Center will hold elections during the Diwali program on November 6, 2016 to elect all the positions in the Executive Committee (EC) and two positions in the Board.
 
All EC positions (total eleven) are for two-year term (2017 - 2018) commencing on January 1, 2017. The two Board positions are for Four-year term (2017 thru 2020) commencing on January 1, 2017. Eligibility requirements for each of the EC positions and two board positions are described and stated in the attached “JCGB Election Candidate Application” form.

 Open Positions for EC are:

• President
• Vice President
• Secretary
• Treasurer
• Director of Property Management
• Youth Representative
• Members-at-large (Five Positions)

The Election Committee appointed by the EC is soliciting and accepting nominations for all of the above positions.

 Here are Important Dates and Timeline:

• Election Committee will accept nomination until: 7-OCT-2016 10:00am
• Publish received nominations to the community by: 14-OCT-2016 10:00am
• Election Committee will accept nominations for remaining open positions between: 1-NOV-2016 10:00am & 4-NOV-2016 10:00am

• Publish revised (if any)nominations to the community by: 4-NOV-2016 11:00pm
• Election Committee members will accept votes from eligible voting members between: 5-NOV-2016 10:00am & 6-NOV-2016 10:00am
• Voting at the Jain Center will be open between: 6-NOV-2016 10:00am & 6-NOV-2016 3:00pm

• A candidate can apply for only one position
• A candidate can change his/her application until nomination acceptance deadline 7-OCT-2016.
• Signed & Completed “JCGB Election Candidate Application” form can be mailed to the email address listed below
• Proxy voting is not allowed
• There are NO quorum requirements for JCGB elections
• The election will be decided by a simple majority of the votes cast
