Continuing the JCGB bi-annual tradition, we will observe a day of Ayambil Tapa on Sunday, October 9th, 2016 at the Jain Center in Norwood. For those who are not familiar with this special austerity, it is typically nine days of observance. Arihanta, Siddha, Acharyas, Upadhyay, Sadhu, Gnan, Darshan, Charitrya, and Tapa (Austerity). However we will observe for at least one day. It will be a partial fast for that day. The observant will eat only one meal at the Jain Center. The only types of food that will be served are items made with grains and dried beans and only spices can be used are salt and black pepper.
If you would like to participate please call Ranjanben Sudhirbhai Shah at 508-660-9683 before 14th October.
Every member of the Boston Jain community is invited to join in this partial penance. One does not have to be a member of the JCGB.
