Koṭisahita Pratyākhyāna

A type of Pratyākhyāna (1) (formal resolve (vow) of abstinence)),

in which there is no gap between the last day of one Pratyākhyāna (e.g. a Caturthabhakta (fasting for one day)) and the initial day of next Pratyākhyāna.

'koḍīsahityaṃ' ti koṭībhyāṃ- ekasya caturthāderantavibhāgo'parasya caturthāderevārambhavibhāga ityevaṃlakṣanābhyāṃ sahitaṃ militaṃ yuktaṃ kotīsahitaṃ militobhayapratyākhyānakoṭeścaturthādeḥ karaṇam.
