JAINA Convention Board and JAINA Executive Committee are pleased to extend our heartiest invitation to you, your family and friends to attend the 19th Biennial JAINA Convention, a premier event bringing the Jain Community and their friends together in Edison, New Jersey from June 30 to July 4, 2017.This is first time we are having JAINA Convention for 5 days and 5,000 to 6,000 participants are anticipated in this upcoming convention.
With popular demand, deadline for low Registration rate of $269 for Adult and $169 for Child and Youth (age 6 to 17) for JAINA Convention 2017 is extended by JAINA Convention Board until February 28, 2017 even beyond 2500 registrations. After these date the price will go up to $299 for Adult and $189 for Child and Youth (age 6 to 17). Please note that actual cost is $ 400 per person. Please avail this opportunity and register before the fees goes up.
The theme for the 2017 convention is: “Jainism and Science”. Many spiritual dignitaries, scientists, and professionals will showcase how Jain principles, values and heritage have numerous links to science. They will elaborate on the ways in which Jainism had an understanding of today’s environmental challenges, and of science, centuries ago. We have planned a wide variety of programs, including lectures, panel discussions, and interactive sessions with dignitaries and scholars from all over the world. The sessions are designed to be informative, inspiring, affirming, enriching, enhancing and entertaining.
There will be Youth (ages 6-23) programs, Young Jain Professionals (YJP) programs, Jain Academic Bowl, Jains Got Talent, Jain Milan, and more. Families with children and young adults of all ages will have fabulous opportunities to experience our heritage and network. Separate programs are planned for Jain Milan (Ages 21-42), Young Jain Professionals - YJP (Ages 24- 42), Youth Activities (Ages 14-23) and Kids’ Club (Ages 6- 13).
Please encourage children and youths to register and take part in Kids Club,Youth Activities (YA), YJP and Jain Milan. A special wrist band and a special ID will be issued ONLY to those who register for these programs. Entrance to these programs is limited to those who have registered and are wearing these wrist bands and ID.
This will also be a great opportunity for family and community reunions and professional networking. New York, New Jersey and Philadelphia are excellent vacation destinations. Tours of local Derasars and the Siddhachalam Tirth are being planned. Welcome Program will also include performances and information from the local Jain centers. We have extensive plans in place to make everyone’s stay at JAINA Convention pleasant and memorable.
All meals and snacks are included as a part of registration. Transportation will be provided from the Newark Airport to JAINA approved hotels and Convention Center. More information on these hotels is provided after you complete your registration.
Our evening entertainment includes a unique musical show with many artists, Raas Garba, Cultural Programs, and the Jains Got Talent competition. We are especially proud to announce a play in Hindi, JITE HAI SHAN SE, about Jivdaya and animal rights. 2017 marks the 150th birth anniversary of Param Krupaludev Shrimad Rajchandra who was a spiritual guide to Mahatma Gandhi. We will celebrate this occasion with a Gujarati play Yugpurush(Mahatmana Mahatma) on how the teachings of Param Krupaludev helped Mohandas Gandhi turn into Mahatma Gandhi.
