As we get ready for Diwali program I would like to share some good news with you.
I am very excited to announce that we are starting an Adult Beginner Swadhyay class.
The meaning of the word Swadhyay is to know more about yourself or self-study. It helps us to improve ourselves in so many ways.
We have noticed that while children are in pathshala classroom, the parents usually stay around the temple, as many of you come from far and it makes sense to wait here.
Arti Mehta, who has been a past JCGB teacher, and president, has graciously offered to start a beginners swadhyay class for parents from 10:30 to 11:30. I hope you all can take advantage of this wonderful opportunity and participate in this swadhyay class.
Some of you might have tried to attend adult Swadhyay classes. That class is pretty advanced and not everyone is ready for that level of learning.
This learning will have many fold benefits for the parents.
- The most important is that you will be able to help your child in the homework.
- Better use of your time
- For those who have learned at a young age will have chance to brush up the knowledge
- It will cover basic Jain principles that you can apply in your daily lives
The class will include topics from the up to pathshala level 4 curriculum and then move on to other topics. One of the goals is to get parents ready for the regular swadhyay class.
The only pre-requisite is
-
Know Namokar Mantra
-
Willingness to learn
-
Ready to commit the attendance and follow up by a homework.
Bringing children to pathshala will now have double the benefits, children learn and parents learn as well.
We encourage and request everyone to try to attend.
If you have any questions feel free to contact us.
Thank you
Prity Turkhia,
Pathshala Director
Jyotsna Jain
Pathshala Coordinator
