The sensual pleasures only give momentary happiness, but are the cause of unhappiness forever. These sensual pleasures are anti to liberation and the mine of great misery.

Respond your criticism with significant works not with words.
The meaning of shyaadvad is to accept possibilities. It is surprising that Indian philosophers have always understood syaadvad as the discussion of the doubtful, of the uncertain. But the contemporary scientist have named syaadvad as the discussion of possibilities. This is indeed the right meaning. It lends a new perspective. Syaadvad is anekantvaad and is the doctrine of possibilities. It is a perspective that accepts possibilities. The basis of acceptances; in the gross world on the basis of gross fact, decisions are taken. The question that arises is: is our world just as much as meets to the eye? No! The world of the subtle consciousness is much larger than the world of the gross.

Awakening Message for 2018
Dear Readers,
2017 will soon draw to a close. How was it for you and your family? We hope it was replete with joy, peace, growth and achievement. Now 2018 is knocking at our doors, so here's a New Year's gift for you-a resolution"- NOT TO WASTE FOOD" in the New Year and beyond. Why? Food is crucial for our sustenance. However every morsel of food that appears on our plate arrives after extensive efforts from scores of individuals and after causing much himsa. Let us respect the efforts of any and save ourselves for unnecessary himsa by resolving to stop food wastage.
Here are some tips for HOW TO NOT WASTE FOOD:
1) Serve yourself with awareness of your appetite. 2) Take smaller servings and then go for seconds or thirds. 3) Make a resolution never to leave anything on your plate. 4) Teach children to follow all of the above. 5) If you are serving food to others, do not force them to take much more than they want. 6) Shop for groceries with awareness- Buy only what you can use before things start to spoil. 7) Cook meals with awareness- cook only what you can consume. 8) When invited to functions and events either by individuals or organizations:
Please honor the RSVP- the host counted you when preparing/ordering food.
Please honor your RSVP count - Please show up along with everyone you RSVP'ed 'Yes 'for.
Do not RSVP 'yes' if you are not sure - Use 'maybe" option.
Inform the host if you have few 'yes' attendees and few 'maybe' attendees in your party - This is specially applicable if you have teenagers in your family.
If you know you are only attending the function and not will not be partaking in the meal, please inform the host.
If for any reason you find yourself /member of your family unable to attend an event please inform the host a few days in advance.
If due to unavoidable situation, you are unable to attend at last minute, do inform the host so any last minute adjustments are possible.
Follow all the above guidelines to stop wastage of food as well as to show respect towards the efforts and resources expended by the host.
Follow these guidelines not just for individuals host but for organizations as well. The organizations counted you when planning for food.
9) When hosting an event and functions--
Take extra care in estimating quantity of the food to be prepared/ordered.
Please allow for some last minute no shows when planning.
Have a backup arrangement in place in case there are any left overs-never throw food.
Let us hope that 2018 will be the beginnings of a new era when JVB families will be free from food wastage problems and related avoidable himsa.
