Rairangpur is a city and a Municipality in Mayurbhanj/West Mayurbhanj district in the state of Odisha, India. It is based at about 85 kilometres from district headquarters of Baripada and about 80 km away from Jamshedpur (TataNagar). Sooner it will be declared as a head quarter of Paschim Mayurbhanj district. People of Rairangpur and its vicinity under the behest of Rairangpur Bar Association are preparing for a revolution to create a separate district under the name and style of "West or Paschim Mayurbhanj".
The Khadkhai (Sulaipat) Dam is a local attraction nearby and Simlipal Tiger Reserve is in the approachable distance attracting many foreign tourists.
