An Aticāra (partial transgression) of Saṃlekhanā (scraping penance unto death, i.e., emaciation of passions by a graded course of penance (fasting));

to have aspiration such as "Let me live more," on gaining fame during the undertaking of Saṃlekhanā.

'jīvitāśamsāprayogo' jīvitaṃ - prāṇadhāranaṃ tadāśamṣāyāh - tadabhilāsasya prayogo 'yadi bahukālamaham jīveyam'......"yathā jīvitameva śreyaḥ, pratipannānaśanasyāpi yata evaṃvidhā maduddeśena vibhiitirvartate"
