Kakinada

Kakinada (formerly called Cocanada) is one of the largest cities and the district headquarters of East Godavari district in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is the most populated city of East Godavari district along with Rajahmundry. The city has a population of about 3.26 Lakhs as of 2011 census.

Kakinada is globally known for it's sweet called KAJA and a vegetarian restaurant SUBBAIAH HOTEL. Along with these it is also known for it's town planning and pleasant climate for which is why it is also known as PENSIONER'S PARADISE. The Indian Standard Time (IST) passes through this city. It used to have about 12 Cinema halls along a road for why which it is known as SECOND MADRAS (as only Madras [Chennai] used to have many cinema halls along a road) which is why that road is named as Cinema Road. It is also known for it's scenic beach beauty alongside Visakhapatnam.

The city is a home for many Tollywood Film Celebrities namely Suryakantham, Rao Gopal Rao, Krishna Bhagawan, Goutham Raju. The city was selected as one of the hundred Indian cities to be developed as a smart city under PM Narendra Modi's flagship, Smart Cities Mission. It is one of the fastest developing cities of Andhra Pradesh.
