Conquering the senses:An important step in the journey to the inner world is, conquering the senses.
Without conquering the senses, it is difficult to meditate, primarily because the attention continues to be distracted by the five senses. For an illustration, a person after overeating, sits for meditation. Will he be able to meditate? No, there is no room for meditation with an overloaded tummy. Without disciplining the craving and developing the power of non-taste, non-touch, and non-speech etc. meditation cannot take birth.
The mind is inquisitive. Therefore, even a slight noise is enough to distract the attention to find out about the source of noise. The reason behind this inquisitiveness is undisciplined senses.
