25th ANNIVERSARY SOUVENIR

Dear Society Members,

Jai Jinendra & Pranam,

I'm delighted to share with you the exciting news that our temple's 25th-anniversary souvenir booklet, commemorating the celebrations from last year, is finally complete. After overcoming some challenges and delays, we have created a beautiful keepsake that truly captures the essence of our festivities.

This souvenir is more than just a collection of photographs and memories; it's a testament to the dedication and vision of our temple's founders, as well as the vibrant community that has grown around it over the past 25 years.

We have chosen a significant date for the distribution of this cherished booklet. On April 28th, 2024, we will celebrate Mahavir Janma Kalyanak, a day of immense spiritual significance. It is fitting that we mark this auspicious occasion by sharing our temple's history and achievements with all of you.

I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to the creation of this souvenir, whether by sharing memories, providing photographs, or assisting with its design and production. Your efforts have truly made this booklet something special.

Please mark your calendars for April 28th when our souvenir booklet will be available for pick up (one booklet per family ) during our Mahavir Janma Kalyanak Celebration Day.

With warm regards,

Arvin Shah

Jai Jinendra. Please join us on May 11th at the Jain Temple in Farmington Hills, MI, for a Puja and Swami Vatsalya lunch honoring the memory of our Dad, Vastupal B. Shah.

Snatra Puja will begin at 10:30 AM, followed by remembrances from family and friends, and then lunch at the temple.

Dad passed away peacefully on March 29th, at home in Hanover Park, IL. Alongside Mom (Varsha), Dad was an integral member and leader of the Jain Community in the US. He held a number of leadership roles in the Jain Society of Greater Detroit (JSGD), including Temple Pratistha Co-Chair, Executive Committee President, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees. His most noteworthy contribution to the Society was as Co-Convener of the 2013 JAINA Convention, which brought over 3,500 attendees from around the world to Detroit. He also led two yatras to India as part of JAINA's Pilgrimage Committee, and co-led over ten Panch Tirth yatras for JSGD. Dad received the JAINA Ratna award in 2017 and JSGD’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2020.
