The Oshwal Association of the United Kingdom will celebrate the opening of the newly built Shikharbandhi Jinalaya (Jain temple) at The Oshwal Centre from 19th-29th August 2005 in a ten days ceremony called Pratishta Mahotsav.
The charity listed ‘Oshwal Association of the United Kingdom’ was founded in 1976 for the welfare of domesticated animals; providing assistance for education; to benefit the disabled; providing assistance to the victims of natural calamities. Donations since then were raised and received for specific religious purposes and the construction of a Jain Temple at The Oshwal Centre. The indefatigable work of nearly thirty years yields fruit in the upcoming event.
To realise the timetable, activities had not only to be bundled, but concerted, as they ranged from Europe to India and vice versa. The Pratimas, sculptures of the Jin images, have been sculpted in Jaipur, Rajasthan, in accordance with the association’s instructions. Safe transport and keeping had to be assured according to the sacred purpose they were destined. Ceremonial Installation of the Pratimas will take place on Saturday 27th August 2005.
