Introduction
There are 2 types of assets:
- The ones which money can buy: Material objects.
- The ones which money can’t buy: Internally available things.
We have to remember what is the target and what is the way to achieve (material objects are the ways to achieve something more profound).
The main reason of all the problems:
We don’t know how to live our life:
We should understand what is knowledge and what is baggage.
Change is required.
Learn to live. (Story of a fool, 8 Moorkha-gunas), few examples:
- Carefree - living in the present
- Peaceful sleep
- Excellent digestion
- Keep the brain/intellect light (knowledge vs the baggage)
- An example of the professor and the boatman – swimming
- Why can’t we do it? – No time management!!
What did Bhagwan Mahavir say? (2600 years before)
Khanam Jaanami Pandiye Who is real Pundit? – The one who knows the value of time.
Samayam Goyam ma pamayiye Don’t waste even a second; don’t be lazy for a second.
Kale Kalam Samayiye (?) At any time do only what you planned to do (no distractions/digressions).
We don’t have any set but have an upset routine.
There is a clock in the universal phenomenon
Sunrise, sunset, seasons, moon calendar.
Even in the biological system there is a clock, which is known as the " circadian rhythm" (E.g. Flowering of the plants, time of hunger)
Timing of: Eating, sleep and excretion.
At human level depression has the cycle: Winter vs Summer, depending on the pituitary gland secretion.
We should do three things:
Introspection to learn form the past - do analysis every night.
Keep balance of mind in the present.
Do screening of the desires for the future and don’t accept what the desires bring you to. Limited/controlled enjoyment!
