Acharya Mahaprajna : Sandesh (Message) for the New Year 2004

The wheel of time turns continually in its own speed, none is able to stop it, often we judge the time. The year 2003 has ended and the year 2004 has started. Traditionally we have welcomed the New Year by arranging parties and distributing sweets in an atmosphere of joy.
For giving higher meaning to the welcome we should also analyse the past, study the problems of the present and figure out good wishes for the future. If bad imaginations and deficiency of the past are there, the new year’s start becomes burdensome. For a bright future it is necessary to forget such events of the past.
We are living with many religions, at the occasion of the New Year their followers should remember the doctrines and get the inspiration to give new life to them. Every human being wants to live a happy and peaceful life, peace is kept at number two and happiness at number one. But there is no happiness without peace. Enmity is a chain which never ends and cannot be ended by enmity.
The New Year should not only become the year of lessons, or the year of conferences, but should become the year of meditation. When it the becomes the year of meditation, it will become mangalkari (blessed) and kalyankari (beneficial) for all.
Daily Meditation should be practiced for at least half an hour. Controlling the senses, sitting in the position of Kayotsarga Mudra, and looking inside will develop talent and intuition power. Working on that base the year will be blessed, will become a very good year.
The figure of four is by nature a good figure so perhaps accomplishment may come in the New Year.
