Dr. Wilfried Nölle attended the International Conference of Jain Wisdom & Ahinsa Culture, held at Ujjain in 1961. The related exhibition of Jain literature and art attracted his attention, so he came in close contact with the International Academy of Jain Wisdom and Culture (The world Jain Mission, Aliganj). He published some papers on Jainism and a book on the Impact of Indian Thought on German Poets and Philosophers.
