International Preksha Meditation Camp


Today was the opening of the 7th International Preksha Meditation Camp at Anuvibha, Jaipur, from 13-20 October 2008

There were two groups in different halls: one in Russian language and one in English, together comprising roundabout a hundred participants, The Russians, with some from Ukraine and Kazakhstan formed the majority. The English-speaking group was only attended by Indians, some non-resident.

The opening lecture was given by Shivani Bothra. Shivanī talked about the meaning and aim of Preksha Meditation (PM) with few short examples. Then she talked about the metaphysical basis of PM and very briefly discussed the 8 main, the 4 supporting and 3 advanced components, which will be worked out in the coming days.

She continued about the scientific basis of PM and about special features of PM that is to say, how PM is different from other types meditation.
Finally she discussed the benefits and the process of Preksha mediation.

Her introductory lecture was followed by the fist practical session, where we all had to do some exercises make the joint of our feet and hips more supple, followed by a laying kayotsarga, that is, complete relaxation.

There was also an introduction session in the presence of Yuvāchārya, where each of the participants told his or her name, city, country, occupation etc.
