►Acharya Mahapragya: Elimination Of Desires After Controlling Them Is Diksha
Jaipur, 19 October, 2008
Lord Mahavira had stated that desires are infinite and to eliminate them by controlling them is the way to eternal happiness. “Increasing desire is the increasing burden of misery in life. Controlling desires and eliminating the same through penance is the definition of Diksha.” Acharya Mahapragya gave initiation into Jain monkshood to 5 Mumukshus & Saman Diksha to one. In his discourse thereafter at Ahimsa Samavasaran in Jaipur Acharya Mahapragya expressed these views.

Further he said that in all ancient religions, Sayam has been considered as the way of happiness. In Islam, those rich persons have been regarded as poor who did not practice control over desires. Only when there are no more desires, consciousness then is eligible to enter into the life of Sayam.
Vice President of Parmarthik Sikshan Santha, Mumikshu Training Centre, Shri K. Anaiya Lal Chajjer read the consent letter of all Mumukshus parents and presented the same to Acharya Mahapragya. On request of Mumukshus and their family members, Acharya Shri started the process of Diksha by reciting the holy mantras and confirmed the Mumukshus’ pledge to practice complete non violence for their whole life.
