Kolkata: In the pious presence of Sadhvi Kanak Shri ji, a learned disciple of Yugpradhan Acharyashri Mahapragyaji and under the direction of Sadhvishri Madhulataji, the magnificent arrangement of the Bengal - Bihar Regional Gyanshala Awareness programme 2010; organized by Terapanthi Sabha Kolkata and South Kolkata Terapanthi Sabha accomplished on 3rd January, 2010.
The programme was held at the hall of South Kolkata’s Terapanth Bhawan. The programme started with the Namaskar Mantra presented by the North Howrah Gyanarthis and the creative presentation of “Arham Vandana”. The programme was presided by Shri Chainroop Chindalia, chief trustee of Mahasabha. Shri Nirmalji Nawlakha, national teacher of the Gyanshala and Shri Sohanraj Chopra, national convener of the Gyanshala were invited as distinguished guests. Shri Rajkaran Sirohia, the in charge of the Terapanth unit of Vikas Parishad and Shri Vinod Choraria, general secretary of Mahasabha were invited as the chief guests.

The programme was divided into three sessions running from 8 A.M. in the morning to 8 P.M. in the evening. In the inaugural session, Learned Sadhvishri Kanakshri ji discussed the usefulness of Gyanshalas saying that Gyanshalas are those units where the young generation is moulded with the cultural values. The gyanshalas motivated by Acharya Shri Tulsi and Acharya Shri Mahapragyaji and under the guidance and direction of Yuvacharya Shri Mahashraman; have the objective to introduce the young generation with the religion, cultures and values of our country. It is necessary to impart religious, cultural, moral values and humane morals to the students. Gyanshalas are following these objectives.
Inspiring the devotees to join hands with the gyanshalas, Sadhv Madhulata ji said - today lot of things are taught to the students at school but what is forgotten is how to teach them to live life. How to live? This is taught in plenty at the gyanshalas. She said in order to face the challenges of social and family problems it is necessary to imbibe values in the present generation.
Smt. Khayati Baid presented a power point presentation. This was liked by all the students. The participants appreciated it.
Shri Surendra Kumar Dugar, President of South Kolkata Sabha gave the introduction speech. Shri Chainroopji Chindalia, Shri Vinod Choraria, Shri Karan Singh Nahata (President of Kolkata Sabha), Shri Nirmal Nawlakha, Shri Sohanraj Chopra, Shri Dalamchandji Sancheti and other respectable personalities addressed the guardians and teachers of gyanshalas. Shri Mahavir Pratap Dugar, regional convener of the Gyanshala discussed the progress of the 23 gyanshalas running in the Greater Kolkata region. He informed that another 7 gyanshalas have opened under the inspiration of Sadhvishri Kanakshriji. Vinod Baid, Secretary of South Sabha offered vote of thanks. The guests were presented with mementoes.
In the second session, all the Gyanarthis of the Gyanshala presented eye-pleasing glimpses on the theme of Gyanshala. The Gyanshala of the Mahasabha Bhawan stood first. The Gyanshala of South Kolkata Terapanth came second. Gyanshala of South Howrah stood third. Gyanshala of Kishanganj came fourth. A drawing competition was also held on the same theme. Gyanshalas of North Howrah, New Alipur and Dumdum came first, second and third respectively. All the winning teams were rewarded. 397 Gyanarthis and 89 teachers from 25 Gyanshalas and thousands of other participants attended the camp.
In the third session various teachers of the Gyanshalas put forth their thoughts. Addressing the teachers, Sadhvishri Kanakshriji and Sadhvishri Madhulekhaji asked the teachers to educate the students with full dedication. Innovate their method of teachings. Shri Nirmalji Nawlakha also put forth his thoughts.
Apart from the teachers of the 22 Gyanshalas, teachers of the Kishanganj, Dalkhola and Alipurdwar Gyanshala were present.
All the three sessions were anchored by Tarun Sethia, Mahavir Pratap Dugar and Malchand Bhansali, respectively. The thank you speech was given by Shri Narendra Manot, secretary of Kolkata Sabha. All the teachers were honoured by the two organizing Sabhas. All the Gyanarthis were given special kits.The two joint convenors Sri Mahavir Pratap Dugar(Upashak & joint secretary-Kolkata Sabha), and Sri Malchand Bhansali (Upashak & Vice president- South Howrah Sabha) Sri Jawri lal Nahata (President- South Howrah Sabha) and others were instrumental in making the programme a grand success.
