We left for Sardarshahar soon after we got the confirmed news at 3:00 PM on 9th May.

About 10:30 pm we reached Sardarshahar to do the last Darshan of the abode body. When we arrived, there were gathered a few hundred people, mostly householders. Time passed by, and more and more people started arriving from length and breadth of the country to pay homage to the Guru.

In the morning more than a lakh of people (one lakh: 100,000 people) had gathered to pay the last homage to the revered one. The location where we did the last Darshan was jam-packed. We sat still until 02:00 pm quietly meditating, reciting Mantras and Bhajans. The past close interactions with Acharya Mahapragya acted like flood on the swirling emotions.

Besides the followers of Terapanth community, there were also admirers of Acharya Mahapragya holding very important posts from different spheres of religions, politics, institutions, and administrative areas.

Acharya Mahashraman ji looked very much in control and strong. We were amazed to see the quietness and calmness in the faces of the younger monks and nuns. A perfect manifestation of self-control and self-discipline.

On the contrary, the emotionally driven public was uncontrollable.

The Shravak Samaj (householders community) of Sardarshahar demonstrated admirable responsibility and exceptional arrangements for the devotees who came for the last Darshan.

The newspaper headlines - front pages and inside pages - of the next days were filled with Acharya Mahapragya ji’s images and special features about him. Various TV channels did a live telecast of the scene and the last ceremonies.

We came back to Jaipur on 10th May night with heavy heart, having had lost our spiritual Guru in person. Left with great memories with him, his voice ringing in the ears, and his creative personal guidance about the meditative way of living.

The Mantra - Anando mein varshati varshati - given by Acharya Mahapragya gives us strength in this most difficult time.

Going to miss our Maha Guru in person.
