Temples of Nagda, Rajasthan
The ancient town of Nagda (Rajasthan) was once the capital of Mewar, but was nearly completely destroyed by the Muslim invaders of Mughal dynasty. The site is particularly known for the Sas-Bahu Hindu temple complex. The Adbudji Jain Temple, however, with its colossal image of Shantinatha is less known but of special art historical interest. According to an inscription the statue of Shantinata was set up in V.S. 1495 (1438 CE) during the reign of Kumbha by a merchant named Sarahga.
