Environmental Ethics

About:

Environmental awareness is not a subject that can be taught in isolation, it is a life ethic whose consciousness determines our every choice. What we wear, what we eat, how we live, the water we use and most importantly, the life that we aspire to. Our aspirations determine the way we live our lives. If one’s goal is merely to own more and more things, then we destroy jungles and rivers. All marble comes from flattening mountains. All meat comes at the cost of lives and jungles where the animals are taken to graze, all leather destroys rivers..... Each thing has a cost that is far more than of money. The environmental term “footprint” is an important moral and economic term. The more you use, the larger your footprint on the Earth. The less you use, the lighter you tread. One should come and go softly - gently, doing good, using little. This Earth is the only home we will ever know. Why not treat it with respect and all its inhabitants with love. That is the basis of all ethics.

With best wishes
