Prof. Dipak Jain, Chairman of the Jain Education & Research Foundation, has been conferred Doctorate honoris causa by Florida International University, Miami, USA on 30th April 2012. This was a great honor not only for Dr. Jain but for the entire Jain community.
Dr. Jain, currently Dean of INSEAD, has overseen the establishment of the Bhagwan Mahavir Professorship in Jain Studies at FIU. The evening before the April 30th ceremony, Dr. Jain was welcomed to campus in a reception hosted by President of FIU, Mark E. Rosenberg at the President's House in the FIU campus. The program was graced by the presence and welcome speech by the President and by Prof. Kenneth G. Furton, the Dean of the faculty of Arts and Science. Mr. Bharat Desai, Prem Jain and JERF board of directors, and distinguished guests were present in the welcome ceremony.
