ANUVRAT GLOBAL ORGANIZATION, also known as ANUVRAT VISHVA BHARATI in Hindi with its widely publicized acronym 'ANUVIBHA' is a non-profit socio-cultural organization dedicated to peace through nonviolence. It seeks to popularize the ANUVRAT MOVEMENT which attempts to cultivate self-discipline among the people by persuading them to commit themselves to the observance of small or basic vows (anuvrats) embedded in ahimsa or nonviolence. Anu means small or basic and vrata means a vow. It is the only movement of its kind in the world that seeks peace through individual commitment to certain basic human values - the degeneration of which is at the root of unrest, violence, hatred, fanaticism and conflicts that mark the world today.
The ANUVRAT MOVEMENT launched by the late His Holiness Acharya Tulsi in 1949 has since inspired thousands of people to live the good life. The ultimate aim of the Movement is to create a nonviolent socio-political world order with the help of a worldwide network of self-transformed people. His Holiness Acharya Mahapragya, successor to the late His Holiness Acharya Tulsi, is continuing the lofty tradition now. Under his dynamic leadership, the ANUVRAT MOVEMENT fortified with the two new dimensions in the form of Preksha Dhyana (perceptive meditation) and Jivan Vigyan (science of living) is slowly widening its base and attracting a large number of people in all parts of the world. It has now become a source of inner transformation for thousands across the world.
Founded in 1982, mainly to promote a culture of peace and nonviolence among children and carry the message of ANUVRAT beyond the frontiers of India, ANUVIBHA has steadily grown in size and stature. It has created a worldwide network of thousands of kindred spirits spread in many countries who like us believe that all conflicts can be resolved through ahimsa. One of its aims is to extend support to U.N. and its agencies in their endeavour to achieve world peace. It celebrated its silver jubilee on Dec. 30, 2007.
In view of Anuvibha's contribution to a culture of peace among children through its nonviolence education programme, it was approved for association with UN/DPI in 1998.
Anuvibha's registered office as well as its international centre is located at Jaipur. It is headquartered at Rajsamand near Udaipur (Rajasthan) where it maintains Children's Peace Palace built on top of a hill overlooking a large lake called Rajsamand. ANUVRAT BALODAYA, the most important unit of Anuvibha, administers the Peace Palace. It focusses on ahimsa (nonviolence) as the basis for children's inner transformation. Another important unit of Anuvibha called RASHTRIYA ANUVRAT SHIKSHAK SANSAD (National Parliament of Anuvrati Teachers) also functions from here.
