Born on 4th June 1920 at Likhwa, Sadulpur district of Rajasthan. He was the senior monk of the Terapanth monks after Acharya Mahaprajna and the companion of Acharyashree after their Diksha. Both munis, former Muni Nathmal, then Acharya Mahaprajna, and Muni Budhmal, got their education from Acharya Tulsi. Both of them were among the first Terapanth monks to speak and write in Hindi.
Muni Budhmal was the writer of the history of the Terapanth sect. He was also researching on the contribution of Jain authors to Indian literature and language. Acharya Tulsi honoured him for his outstanding talent in writing with the title 'Good adviser for litterature'. He was succeeding Muni Nathmal, then Acharya Mahaprajna, in the function as head of educational and administrative matters of the Sangh. Like Acharya Mahaprajna, he commanded the rare quality to make poetry in Sanskrit ad libitum, which is published in numerous books.
Before Acharya Mahaprajna reached 2005 his Delhi Chaturmas, he visited Sardashahar mainly for giving Darshan to Muni Budhmal who was not perfect in health.
Sashan Gaurav Muni Shri Buddh Malji Swami took his last breath on 12.06.2007, 06:20 at Sardarshahar.
