1. PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

“Thank you for giving me an opportunity to serve JAINA and Jain Community for next 2 years. I am humbled by the trust you have placed in me. With your support and blessings, your new JAINA Executive Committee (EC) will take JAINA to next level. Your EC is already working hard and have identified following top 3 initiatives:

1. Increase Youth involvement
2. Jain Education including increased use of TV and Internet
3. Improve JAINA’s reach to reach out to most/all Jains in North America

We plan to bring you regular JAINA eNewsletter to keep you informed. Thank you for your continued support and involvement with JAINA. Hopefully you and family enjoyed JAINA Convention in Atlanta and returned home with some pleasant memories, if you attended the Convention."

3. COMMITTEE UPDATES

I. Nepal Relief Fund

Thank you message to those who pledged, also a thank you to the JNF & JM for their service activity of creating quilts blankets, next steps - they are sending a team to Nepal in Aug / Sept.

We would like to send our greatest gratitude to those who pledged and donated towards the Nepal Relief Fund. Your support has helped us SURPASS our goal of $70,000 to raise $76,000! We also send our thanks to the Jain Networking Forum and Jain Milan for creating beautiful quilts during a service activity at the 2015 JAINA Convention to be sent to Nepal.

II. 99 Yatra

We have organized a 99 Yatra event to the Shatrunjay Mahatirth in Palitana in 2016. The yatra will commence in India from November 14, 2016 through January 13, 2017. The ninety-nine yatra will be performed under the guidance of Acahrya Bhagwant (Name to be announced later on) and Shri Punch Parmeshati Ratna Narendrabhai Nandu and his team.

JAINA started publishing the Jain Digest in 1985, and with the support of readers like you, we have continued our growth in reaching larger populations. We hope you enjoy our publications!
