Jain Center of Greater Boston

Jai Jinendra,

Continuing the JCGB bi-annual tradition, we will observe a day of Ayambil Tapa on Saturday, September 30th, 2017 at the JCGB Jain Center in Norwood, MA. For those who are not familiar with this special austerity, it is typically nine days of observance. Arihanta, Siddha, Acharyas, Upadhyay, Sadhu, Gnan, Darshan, Charitrya, and Austerity (Tapa). However we will observe for at least one day. It will be a partial fast for that day. The observant will eat only one meal at the Jain Center. The only types of food that will be served are items made with grains and dried beans and only spices can be used are salt and black pepper.

If you would like to participate, please call Ranjanben Sudhirbhai Shah at 508-660-9683 on or before 27th September.

Every member of the Boston Jain community is invited to join in this partial penance. One does not have to be a member of JCGB.

Date and Time: Saturday, 30th, September 2017
11:15 to 12:10 pm: Puja and Chaitya Vandan and Aarti
12:15 to 1:15 pm: Ayambil Meal
