Role of Mental AttitudesThere are two states of human:
1. with thoughts, and
2. without thoughts or a state of direct perception (saakshaatkaar).
Once a state of saakshaatkaar is achieved, there is no value of thoughts, but until that is achieved, thoughts provide an essential medium for progress. The true purpose of meditation is to gain the ability to control unnecessary thoughts and develop an ability which allows the practitioner to be mindful in each activity without getting distracted or side-tracked.
